Welcoming Our New CEO

We are delighted to share that we welcomed Kathy McGilvray to the OppCo team on March 1, 2023, as our CEO.

Kathy’s experience at Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation (MHIC) as a manager and leader in the community development finance sector, and her deep knowledge of Massachusetts CDCs, are strengths that will benefit OppCo’s next phase of growth and development. 

As Director of Investment at MHIC, where she has been for nearly 20 years, Kathy has supported affordable housing and community development initiatives. She’s spearheaded innovative programs that have filled gaps in the community development finance ecosystem, like the Healthy Neighborhoods Equity Fund. All three of OppCo’s current CDC members – North Shore CDC, Nuestra Comunidad Development Corporation, and The Neighborhood Developers – have benefitted from investments managed by Kathy.

In addition to strong technical skills and knowledge, Kathy shares our commitment to locally-controlled community development. She’s looking forward to collaborating with OppCo’s current and future member organizations to grow their organizational capacity and maximize local impact, and we are thrilled to have her at the helm.
